WARNING: Java on Linux requires installing the correct build of Java with the correct build of Mozilla. If you are running a build provided with your Linux distribution chances are you are running with GCC 3.2. If you are running with a standard Mozilla.org build then you are running GCC 2.95.

If you install the WRONG build you may have to delete HOME/.mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so or Mozilla may fail to start.

A list of Mozilla versions with the necessary Java version is available here. You can detect your Mozilla GCC version by going to about:buildconfig
